Since we all have a role to play in protecting the environment, Zenitude is committed to offering you more sustainable and responsible tourism. By being Green Key certified, you can be assured that our establishments are committed to a cleaner and healthier planet.
The Clef Verte Label and its criteria
The Clef Verte label is the first sustainable tourism certification for tourist accommodations and restaurants. Renewed annually after its initial award, this label is first granted by an independent jury made up of tourism and environmental professionals and experts.
The awarding of the eco-label focuses on three key areas:
- The reduction of the environmental impact of establishments (water, energy, waste management, responsible purchasing, quality of living environment)
- Education for sustainable development (for both employees and customers)
- The implementation of a social responsibility approach
As of January 1, 2023, 89% of Zenitude establishments are Clef Verte certified. We are maintaining our environmental efforts to achieve Green Key certification for all of our establishments by 2024!
All of this is reflected in concrete daily actions:
In the morning, this unique fruity jam that brings you back to childhood flavors, this fresh and crispy bread… these breakfast products come from local production to prioritize short supply chains. This allows us to offer you high-quality products and strengthen our connection with local producers and businesses.
To prevent waste, some of our residences have partnered with Too Good To Go to ensure perishable goods are consumed as quickly as possible.
In your apartments, the cleaning products used by our housekeeping teams to prepare your room are all Ecolabel certified. In the shower, no more single-use products – instead, you’ll find refillable bottles to reduce plastic, along with a gentle shower gel that is kind to both your skin and the environment. Would you prefer not to have your towels changed every day? Only the towels left on the floor will be replaced.
The features in your accommodation are designed to reduce their impact. We prioritize water-saving devices on faucets, energy-efficient light bulbs, and implement a sustainable purchasing policy.
Throughout your stay, you are encouraged to respect selective sorting for your waste by using the recycling bins.
At the reception, we minimize printing by providing all the information about your stay through the digital welcome booklet. Our teams are trained in eco-friendly practices and are here to assist you with any questions or suggestions.
If you would like to contribute to a greener stay on your part, you can:
- Prefer using public transportation to get around.
- Recycle your waste in the bins provided for you.
- Turn off the heating/air conditioning if you open the window and maintain an appropriate temperature in your accommodation.
- Check our environmental charter and adopt eco-friendly practices to avoid overconsumption.
